BTS is back and Butter than ever

The band’s second English single is finally here!

The rumours of a BTS comeback started last month, and they were proved to be right when the group dropped a countdown on YouTube to reveal the title of their new song, “Butter”.

The band’s next steps were to raise the expectation for the single with amazing concept videos, photos and a can’t-stop-playing-it-over-and-over-again movie video teaser that reached a million likes in less than an hour. It became BTS’s second-most viewed MV teaser with 28.3 million views in 24 hours.

After the teaser, ARMY pointed out how the song’s beats reminded them of Queen’s famous hit ‘Another One Bites the Dust’, trending it worldwide. They received a quick and cheeky response from the band’s official account, making ARMY even more excited for the song to drop.

Showing that he was just as excited as all of us, RM left a message on Weverse telling ARMY how hard he’s trying not to spoil the song and how he couldn’t wait for it to be out already.

Today, “Butter” is finally out — and we are melting!

The beats are addicting and it’s hard not to move as you listen to it.

“Smooth like butter, like a criminal undercover”; that’s how the song starts with Jungkook in black and white. Colours appear as they dance to the catchy chorus, “high like the moon rock with me baby”, kissing their hands and flirting with the camera.

BTS look handsome in neat suits as they show confidence throughout the video, making it hard to look anywhere else but the screen.

ARMY is (unsurprisingly) showing their love for the MV and the song as they break another record for BTS. “Butter” is now the fastest music video to achieve 15 million views in less than 30 minutes, breaking the band’s own record with “Dynamite“.

BTS will be performing “Butter” for the first time at the Billboard Music Awards this weekend, and you definitely don’t want to miss it!
