It was announced last week that Tom Felton is set to reprise his role as Draco Malfoy in ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’, on Broadway. This will be the first time any of the original Harry Potter cast members have taken part in the stage play.

Tom Felton played the villainous Draco Malfoy in all eight Harry Potter films, from 2001 to 2011. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child takes place 19 years after the original story, making Tom the same age as Draco is in the play.

It will also mark Tom’s Broadway debut. He has previously starred in ‘2:22 A Ghost Story’ in London’s West End, and most recently ‘A Child Of Science’ that took place at Bristol’s Old Vic theatre.

Speaking on the Today Show last week, Tom said:

It’s very much a pinch-me situation. I keep thinking I’m dreaming. I let go of that character 16 years ago, and now I get to step back into his shoes, as a father this time, in a new story.

Tom will reprise his childhood role at the Lyric Theatre in New York, running for 19 weeks, from 19th November 2025 to 22nd March 2026.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child has been in production on Broadway since 2018, and when it first started was split into two parts over five hours. Now it is all captured in one part, in three and a half hours. In London, the production remains split in two.

Tickets for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child are on general sale from 12th June and can be purchased here. Who else is feeling extremely nostalgic at this exciting news?
