We’ve always known they were real-life angels, but now Little Mix have proved it by transforming into ‘winged fatales’ in their new music video for ‘Heartbreak Anthem’.

The single is another killer collab (this time, with electronic duo Galantis and DJ David Guetta) and marks the group’s first official track as a trio. It follows their recent remix of ‘Confetti‘ ft. Saweetie, which saw the girls rework the title track from their latest album following Jesy’s departure in December.

Directed by Samuel Douek, who also worked on Little Mix’s last project, the music video takes inspiration from Angela Carter’s 1984 novel Nights at the Circus. It’s set in an empty theatre where the girls embrace the glamorous world of burlesque, with one scene even featuring them performing on aerial hoops.

Dressed in glittery flapper dresses and life-size angel wings, all three of the band members look absolutely stunning. Leigh-Anne and Perrie, who both recently announced that they’re pregnant, give viewers a glimpse of their growing baby bumps. Meanwhile, Jade dazzled fans by debuting a striking new look with a blonde Marilyn Monroe-style wig.

Galantis’ Christian Karlsson spoke about how the collaboration came about, revealing that it actually began over a year ago.

“[Heartbreak Anthem] started with just the chord progression at a studio in London right before the pandemic. As many collaborations have gone in these times, it was a remote work in progress for months, with stems sent back and forth from London to Los Angeles to Stockholm to Paris.”

“We’d been talking with David about working together for a long time, and having Little Mix and their unique, strong vocals has made this one really special,” he added.
