Here we go again Swifties… just when you think you’ve finally recovered from the mayhem of folklore earlier this summer, Taylor has thrown another curveball with the shock announcement of TS9.
Yep, you’ve read that right – it’s like Christmas has come early as Taylor Swift is dropping ANOTHER surprise album. ‘evermore’, the sister record to folklore, will be released tonight at midnight EST with 15 brand new songs (plus two bonus tracks!)
And if that wasn’t enough excitement for one day, the music video for the first single ‘willow’ will also be out at the same time.
Fans began to wonder if Taylor was up to something earlier this week when she tweeted nine emojis (as opposed to her usual lucky thirteen), but I’m not sure anyone was quite expecting this. All signs pointed to a collaboration with Paul McCartney, whose album is set to be released next week, but this is 113x better.
Announcing the news online, Taylor explained why it was so important to her to release this new music now. “Ever since I was 13, I’ve been excited about turning 31 because it’s my lucky number backwards, which is why I wanted to surprise you with this now. You’ve all been so caring, supportive and thoughtful on my birthdays and so this time I thought I would give you something!”
The fifteen new tracks are ‘willow’, ‘champagne problems’, ‘gold rush’, ’tis the damn season’, ‘tolerate it’, ‘no body, no crime’ (feat. Haim), ‘happiness’, ‘dorothea’, ‘coney island’ (feat. The National), ‘ivy’, ‘cowboy like me’, ‘long story short’, ‘marjorie’, ‘closure’ and ‘evermore’ (feat. Bon Iver) – with two bonus tracks ‘right where you left me’ and ‘it’s time to go’.
We’re already counting down the hours! *screams internally*
