This week is a special week for Mr Tyler Oakley – not only is it nine years since he started his YouTube channel, but he has officially launched his very own talk show!
It was announced yesterday on The Ellen Degeneres Show that Tyler will be hosting a weekly chat show on ‘EllenTube’. The first episode aired yesterday online. Tyler’s talk show is more of a playful nature with games, such as the first episode where he and Celine Dion played ‘a bowl full of questions.’
The weekly show will feature a whole host of celebrities so we at UBP have created a list of potential guests that Tyler should consider inviting onto the show.
1.The cast of ‘Stranger Things’
If you’re on social media, you’ve probably not gone a day without seeing ‘Stranger Things’ mentioned somewhere. The Netflix show was said to average views of 14.07 million people between the ages 18–49 within the first 35 days of its launch, and people are already anticipating the second season which was confirmed last month. I don’t know about you, but I think this is an interview the world is waiting for and Tyler could be the guy to deliver what the people of the internet are hungry for.
2.Fifth Harmony
Arguably the biggest girl band of this decade, Fifth Harmony are well and truly killing it right now. With their sophomore album released earlier this year and their huge world tour, Tyler needs to sit down with these ladies and get all the goss from what seems to be their biggest year of their career yet.
3.Hey Violet
Known as the first band to be signed to 5 Seconds of Summer’s label ‘Hi or Hey Records’, Hey Violet have been on the adventure of a lifetime. From touring not once, but twice with 5SOS and releasing two EPs since being signed, we want to see them noticed by the likes of Tyler and Ellen. Perhaps now would be the perfect time since they’ve just released their brand new single ‘Guys My Age’ and introduced new member, bassist Iain Shipp.
4.Shawn Mendes
Internet stars need to have fellow internet stars’ back, so it’s pretty much compulsory for Tyler to invite Shawn onto the show. He’s come a long way since posting his covers on Vine and now with his second album releasing and upcoming world tour, it’s about time we had some catch-up time with Mr Mendes. Come on, Tyler, make it work!
5.Zayn
It’s been over a year since he left the biggest boyband on the planet and Zayn is taking the world by a storm. He’s got his autobiography coming out at the end of the year and we haven’t had a Zayn interview in a while. PLUS, if you remember correctly, back in 2013 on ‘1D Day’, Tyler famously got Zayn to say his middle name was Beyoncé. Tyler has the power to do more amazing stuff with Z and I want to see them playing some more fun interview games.
6.Kylie Jenner
The queen of social media and beauty entrepreneur, Kylie Jenner, is possibly the world’s most watched teenager right now, so why wouldn’t she be a guest on ‘The Tyler Oakley Show’? We’d love to see Tyler getting her do some fun stuff instead of doing some serious sit-down talk. Plus, anyone else want Ky give Ty a makeover so on point it’ll be viral for days of not weeks?
7.The cast of Scream Queens
They’re back for a second season and after being so popular with season one, I think it’s important that we get some interview time and see what goss the cast of ‘Scream Queens‘ can conjure up with regards to filming this year.
8.Halsey
What a year it’s been for the the New Jersey babe and it’s just the beginning for Ashley AKA Halsey. She’s had an incredible year with her music so maybe now would be the perfect time to see how life has drastically changed for her since her upload of ‘Ghost’ on Soundcloud. She’s also done a lot of work for the LGBTQA+ community, which is something Tyler is also passionate for. And, let’s be real, she’d be awesome to have some fun and games with.
9.James Corden
From a small UK TV show to creating possibly the internet’s biggest trend of the year – ‘Carpool Karaoke’ – I think we all want to see Tyler and James switch roles where Corden is in the seat of the interviewee. He’s a lot of fun and full of life, plus always ready for a good laugh, so he’s definitely one that would make an interesting interview.
10.Lady Gaga
The Queen of weird and wonderful is back with a brand new single and ready to release a new album and it’s been so long since we had some up-to-date Gaga content. As a huge fan, I think it’s safe to say that Tyler of all people would have something fantastic prepared for Lady G.
