Bebe Rexha is throwing fans a global party with her virtual concert ‘A Night with Bebe Rexha: The Better Mistakes Livestream Concert’. The event will celebrate the release of her brand new album and see her perform its songs for the first time.

The Grammy-nominated singer unleashed her highly-anticipated sophomore album on 7th May and it’s already cemented itself as a strong fan-favourite. The pop record consists of 13 tracks which gives listeners raw insight into the inner chaos of Bebe’s life and mind.

Explaining the message behind the album, Bebe said: “This is it! It’s everything I’ve always wanted an album to be. I’m not holding anything back about my life and who I am. I felt like all of this time and work allowed me to say everything I needed to. I hope you all love it as much as I do. It really is Bebe f*cking Rexha.”

The album begins as it means to go on by kick-starting with an opening track that focuses on Bebe’s personal mental health. ‘Break My Heart’ shines a light on the singer’s bipolar diagnosis and sees her candidly discuss her struggles. The vulnerability continues on the following track ‘Sabotage’ – a haunting ballad about how you can be your own worst enemy.

You’d be forgiven for anticipating the tone of the rest of the album to be downbeat. Despite Bebe’s frankness about the dark times she’s faced, Better Mistakes is certainly an album you can dance to. There are plenty of bops you can imagine hearing in the club (whenever they reopen), such as the acerbic ‘My Dear Love’ which can be accurately summarised as “karma is real.”

We see Bebe aptly embrace her inner bad bitch throughout the record, with a personal highlight of mine being ‘Die for a Man’. The self-empowerment anthem encapsulates her personal growth as she triumphs after realising she’s no longer willing to put a man’s needs before her own.

An eclectic mix of artists are featured with collaborations scattered throughout, including Travis Barker, Trevor Daniel, Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Uzi Vert, Doja Cat, Lunay, Pink Sweat$ and Rick Ross. As we reach the final two tracks, it’s also clear that Bebe has taken inspiration from some classic hits. ‘Amore’ interpolates Dean Martin’s ‘That’s Amore’ and is notably reminiscent of Ariana Grande’s ‘7 Rings’.

Meanwhile, ‘Mama’, the closing number and arguably the most revealing one, interpolates Queen’s ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’. The melancholic song is a bittersweet tribute to Bebe’s mother, whom she appears to have a rocky relationship with after struggling to raise her at the age of seventeen. It showcases Bebe’s powerhouse vocals and is a beautifully raw ending to what has proved to be an incredibly honest and multifaceted work of art.

Bebe will headline ‘A Night with Bebe Rexha: The Better Mistakes Livestream Concert’ on Thursday 20th May at 6pm PT/9pm ET.

Don’t worry about time zones though, the stream will be available to watch for 24 hours after it airs. Tickets are available for $15 here.
