Just months after debuting under HYBE, CORTIS embarked on their first international tour, proving the growing demand for their music and live performances. With tracks like “RED, RED,” “FASHION,” and “GO” gaining traction across social media and earning recognition, the group is quickly making a name for themselves—all while embracing their “Young Creator Crew” spirit and simply having fun as they should.
Last Thursday, James, Martin, Juhoon, Keonho, and Seonghyeon made the Infosys Theatre at Madison Square Garden shake. The Put Your Phone Down Tour marked their first performance in New York, and one that will stay in their memory forever. While Keonho, the maknae of the group, was unable to perform choreography, the other four members made sure that he was included by dancing with him on his couch and giving him time and support during his solos and ments.
The show began with their most recent hit “Young Creator Crew.” A song that was recently released live at their NBA crossover halftime performance. Every single fan was on their feet, jumping, dancing, and moving in motion before the beat for “Fashion” came on. Then, as soon as the introduction to “RED, RED” began, the floor began to vibrate as every COER screamed and yelled their lyrics back to them. Those three songs were only the beginning of something so beautiful and eye-catching.
After a quick introduction ment, they moved straight into a special time for everyone; “ACAI” time, as they like to call it. Another upbeat track of theirs that made COER scream at the top of their lungs. But wait, there was more; with no hesitation, they began singing “TNT”, another song that made COER jump so high that CORTIS freebies and keychains were seen on the ground at the end of the night. Once “JoyRide,” “Lullaby,” and “Blue Lips,” came on, fans knew exactly what to do. They waved their light sticks, hands, or phone lights in the air, becoming one with the performers. During “Blue Lips,” Keonho even took his in-ears out for a moment to hear COER sing along with him after his solo.
What made the show feel even more intimate was the boys’ effort to connect with fans beyond the stage. They made their way through the 100, 200, and 300 sections, singing alongside fans and creating unforgettable moments throughout the venue. One standout moment came when Martin, the group’s leader, accepted a fan-made CORTIS ball hat and proudly wore it. True to his role as a leader, he also made sure both the members and the audience stayed hydrated throughout the night.
If there’s anything COERs should know about the boys, it is that they know how to turn every show into a shared experience. From singing along in Korean to repeating songs with fans to running around bopping heads with fans, every moment feels less like a performance and more like an endless celebration of what they want CORTIS to represent.
