It has almost been four years since R5 went their separate ways into different projects, which means it has been four years since they released their final ever EP as R5.

New Addictions was the family band’s fourth EP and it was released in May 2017. It only had five songs on, four of which were original songs from the band. The final song on the EP was a cover of the INXS song ‘Need You Tonight’. The whole EP was almost entirely produced by Rocky.

Rolling Stone, at the time of release, called the EP “full of sharply constructed pop confections that ride galloping basslines”. You can re-watch the music video for the lead single down below.

The EP saw the band embark on their last world tour as R5, known as the ‘New Addictions Tour’. The American five-piece travelled the globe, performing the EP and songs from their two albums to thousands of adoring fans.

Since leaving R5 behind, each of the members have started their own projects. Arguably Ross and Rocky’s has become the most known, they are still making music under the name of The Driver Era and are promising new music very soon. Listen to their latest release down below.

Riker is also making new music, under the name of Riker and the Beachcombers, as well as directing his first-ever short film.

Ellington is also making new music, just using his first name, and has released two solo EPs. You can listen to Ellington’s latest single below.

Whereas Rydel has taken a turn from music, and is now a successful boutique owner as well as becoming a popular YouTuber and TikToker. She has also just recently become a mother.

Although R5 aren’t together anymore, each of the members are sure keeping themselves busy. We’re going to be listening to New Addictions on repeat all this week!
