Loveboat, Taipei follows main character Ever Wong as she leaves her hometown in Ohio to spend a summer rediscovering her family’s roots in Taiwan. Ever’s parents (whose biggest wish is for her to attend Yale) believe they’re signing her up to study Mandarin, but it turns out they’re unknowingly sending her into an infamous teen “meet-market” nicknamed Loveboat. Think Crazy Rich Asians for teenagers: clubbing, drinking snake blood sake, and zero parental supervision.
This book is nearly 500 pages of the Asian-American experience, a summer abroad, and all the shenanigans and drama you could ask for — everything that makes for a great read. And we’ve got your chance to win a SIGNED copy.

If you could go to college/uni on any course, no matter grades, nor cost – what would you choose? ✨ – Hello everyone! 😄 Here’s my stop for @darkroomtours ‘s Loveboat, Taipei! I can say, that I’ve stared and read a chunk into this book and it’s really good! 😍 The writing is so pretty yet so easy to follow, which I love in a contemporary. The main characters’ struggles are so real and grounded and probably something we all have gone through/will go through (college acceptances) – the story, so far is quite typical – girl wants to do x, but parents want her to do something else. It’s moving quite quickly though and I’m excited to see where it goes.
