It’s time to revisit the woods and encounter the ‘Blair Witch’ all over again

With upcoming Horrors ‘Lights Out‘ and ‘Ouija: Origin of Evil‘ we’re spoilt for choice when it comes to what to go and see this Halloween, though what we’re about to tell you next is a horror like no other.

If you go down to the woods today , you’re sure of a big surprise! And not a good one either, especially if these films have anything to go by.

We can’t believe it’s been 17 years since the release of ‘The Blair Witch Project’ which became one of the biggest creepy cult films of the 90s. We’ll never forget how absolutely terrified it made us feel and how certain we were of never venturing into the woods at night (if at all).

Fast forward over a decade

Around 3 months ago we were introduced to a new horror film trailer directed by Adam Wingard for an upcoming film entitled ‘The Woods’. But thanks to the reveal at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego, we now know that title was all a lie. The trailer was in fact hidden behind the pretence of an overdue sequel to TBWP.

Wingard is reported to have said that the  “new version differs from the original in that it’s about the horror of being chased, whereas the 1999 version was focused on being lost in the woods”.

If you can’t wait until next month to experience the fear, why not try this horrifically realistic 360-degree virtual reality experience to whet your appetite.

So if you’re ready to revisit the most feared woods of the horror film world, ‘Blair Witch’ hits UK cinemas on September 16th.

Who knows, maybe we’ll actually get to see ‘The Witch’ this time! Here’s hoping anyway…
