I was pleasantly surprised by Supergirl. I thought “oh yeah, another superhero show”. However, that wasn’t the case. It was so refreshing to have a female superhero up front and centre. I also fell in love with each character. That rarely ever happens to me, so I knew this show was lit.
As you all know, season 2 premieres this week on The CW and I am so ready. I feel like moving networks was a good choice so now the show can truly shine. I’ve compiled 10 of my favourite Supergirl quotes to get you pumped for the new season.
1. HOW TO SLAY
This quote had me dying of laughter. Cat Grant is character goals. People goals. She is goals. Everything she says is gold. She’s one of the reasons I love this show. Sadly she won’t be featured as much in season 2, but hey, it’s better than no Cat.
2. QUEEN!
Look, I’m not going to lie, Cat Grant has the best quotes and this entire article will probably be 90% her. Deal with it.
3. INSPIRATION
The one thing I love about this show is the message of hope. Supergirl shares inspiration with the audience and young girls. It’s okay to be afraid, it’s okay to be yourself.
4. SPACESHIPS
Own it girl. Because hey, you have to tell somebody about your spaceship. And the Flash is cool.
5. BLESS THESE TWO
Poor Kara. Revealing her huge secret to Winn and he think she’s gay. Oh Winn, bless your innocent soul. Love you always.
6. CAT GRANT, EVERYBODY
Hands down best quote of the show, in my honest opinion. Having Kara, Barry, Winn and Jimmy stand in front of her, this can only be the correct response. Cat Grant, you legend. Whoever is writing her lines, keep up the good work.
7. FLIRTING SKILLS?
I’m not going to lie, this is 100% me trying to flirt with somebody. I rhyme things, say bad puns and I’m still single. Boys, hit me up?
8. WHEN SOMEONE TALKS SHIT ABOUT YOU
You listen to the shit they say about you, then you give it back twice as hard. No regrets. Another prime example from our hero Cat Grant.
9. AFTER A HARD DAY…
… me at the end of every day. Not an actual quote, but this gif pretty much speaks for itself.
10. PREACH IT, SISTER
Cat Grant speaks truth. Her character is such a good role model. The theme of girl power in this show is LONG overdue in television. And this quote could not be more accurate. Cat Grant slaying it once again.
If you haven’t checked out Supergirl, do it this season. You won’t regret it. And if you loved Tyler Hoechlin on ‘Teen Wolf’, he’s playing Superman. I am SO ready!
