Jackson Wang brings his fans into a 90s Chinese Hong Kong movie in the ‘Pretty Please’ music video for his collaboration track with Galantis.

Jackson Wang has shared today his collaboration single with Galantis, the Swedish electronic dance music production, songwriting and DJ duo consisting of Christian Karlsson and Linus Eklöw. The single is accompanied by a self-directed music video.

The track was surprisingly announced earlier this week and Galantis might be an artist you would not expect Jackson Wang to team up with, but the pair deliver an ace pop collaboration that incredibly well fuse their styles.

‘Pretty Please’ features a punchy and catchy EDM rhythm with a resonant bass beat on where Jackson’s talented vocals are layered. The GOT7’s rapper really sways listeners with his husky voice, adding an interesting finish to the track. The final result is an excellent song that for sure will please fans of both artists, expanding their audiences in new territories and genres.

For the music video, Jackson Wang has once again redefined the idea of cool. The setting is a nod to Chinese classic Hong Kong 90s movies – a concept Jackson always wanted to recreate, as he explains in a behind the scenes clip at the end of the video.

In the music video, Jackson narrates a love story. We see Jackson sitting with his friends in a dimly lit restaurant as his gaze wanders between a girl sitting at a table and the rain falling outside. The (love) story develops with Jackson chasing after the girl and alluring her with powerful choreography and of course his undeniable charm. The video features the same dance group (The Kinjaz) and actress from “100 Ways”, Jackson’s previous release.

The music video is Jackson Wang and TEAM WANG at its finest as it’s produced by TEAM WANG and Push Media, directed by Jackson Wang and Conglin, produced by Jackson Wang and the script has been written by Jackson Wang.

With this release we can undeniably see Jackson Wang as a 360-degree artist, exponentially growing as a music artist and, at the same time, finding ways to express his art and himself via other mediums.
