Sam Smith unveils Gloria, the title track of their new album

Sam Smith's fourth album, Gloria, is set to release everywhere Jan. 27th

Sam Smith has shared “Gloria”, the title track from their upcoming album.

The song was written during lockdown and later completed with folk/blues musician, Foy Vance. Smith recorded “Gloria” at St. Mary’s Church in Saffron Walden, Essex, the church they attended as a child, and is accompanied on the song by the London Voices choir.

In a press release, Smith described the new song as “my queer love hymn, saying life is a song to Gloria, the thing I can’t put a word to. I don’t know if it’s nature or a feminine energy inside me that I’m setting free.”

“Gloria” follows three previously released songs from the album- “Gimmie” feat. Koffee and Jessie Reyez, “Love Me More”, and of course, the song that took over TikTok, “Unholy” feat Kim Petras.  “Unholy” could earn the singer another Grammy with the song being in the running for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

Tomorrow, Smith returns to Saturday Night Live to perform various songs from Gloria. It will make it their third appearance as musical guest and their appearance comes right before the release of the album, which is set to release everywhere on January 27.

Tickets are also now on sale for the North American leg of Gloria The Tour, which is set to kick off on July 25.
