K-pop keeps getting bigger and bigger every year. The fan bases are growing and groups and solo artists are making a name for themselves inside and outside Korea. Last year we got amazing singles and albums from many female groups and solo artists, and in case you missed something we decided to create this list with ten amazing songs from 2021. Here’s what we’ve got for you:

Twice – “The Feels”

Twice invited everybody to their 2021 prom with their first original track in English. “The Feels” is a catchy disco pop song that had the whole social media world hooked to the lyrics and its choreography. The movie video surpassed 180 million views on YouTube and the song was considered one of the best songs of 2021 by Rolling Stone. Twice performed the single on two big American TV shows, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and Good Morning America. “The Feels” was their next step to make a bigger name for themselves in the western industry.

aespa – “Savage”

aespa is definitely one of the most famous names among the 4th generation in K-pop. After their successful debut with “Black Mamba”, in 2021 aespa released their first mini album Savage and a lead single with the same name. Karina, Winter, Giselle and Ningning showed powerful vocals and killer moves on “Savage”’s music video which now already has over 140 million views.

LOONA – “PTT (Paint The Town)”

If you still don’t know who they are, you’ll wish you did after listening to “Paint The Town”. Loona’s comeback last year was without a doubt a killer one. With this hip hop track full of strong beats, the twelve-piece group had their second win on a music show.

LISA – “LALISA” & “MONEY”

BLACKPINK‘s Lisa’s solo project was hands down the most awaited of 2021 and probably the most successful. The singer released “LALISA” and “MONEY” last year and her first mini solo album. Lisa has now the most watched music video by a solo artist in the first 24 hours with “LALISA”, a video full of references to Thai culture and Lisa’s amazing dance and rap skills. “MONEY” did not get its own music video, but it has a performance video with almost 400 million views. Both songs entered different music charts all over the world, proving that Lisa’s talents are a worldwide success.

Jeon Somi – “DUMB DUMB”

Proving one more time that going solo was the best decision she could’ve made, Somi is back with a little guide teaching you how to get your crush to like you back. Giving teen movie vibes, the music video shows Somi and the guy she has an eye on playing dumb waiting for each other to confess. The song’s chorus is definitely the catchiest part of it, you’ll learn the choreography and be dancing around in no time.

Jessi – “Cold Blooded (With SFW)”

Jessi put together a whole dance crew full of diverse and fierce women to perform her latest song “Cold Blooded”. You can see them performing in groups, and then all together, a killer routine that you won’t be able to take your eyes off. Jessi’s rap is on point and the lyrics are fire.

EVERGLOW – “Pirate”

Back with another strong concept for their comebacks, Everglow assembles girls all over the world on board with them. Full of pirate references in the lyrics, the song has strong beats and electronic music in the background making it sound like you’re in a club. The song screams girl power and the girls look fierce in every take in the music video.

STAYC – “색안경 STEREOTYPE”

Showing their pretty and confident side, STAYC landed “Stereotype” last September. The group shows different looks and styles in the music video while singing about being themselves under all the clothes and make up, asking someone to look at them as they are and not with eyes full of prejudice.

Hyuna & DAWN – “PING PONG”

K-pop’s favorite couple dropped a song together last year and we couldn’t leave them out of this list. “Ping Pong” is a show of colors in a world that resembles an amusement park, in which Hyuna and Dawn have the time of their lives confessing their love for each other. It shows the best of both artists and how well they work as one.

Would anyone else make it on your list? Who are you most excited to see more in 2022?
