Riker and The Beachcombers is the perfect new soundtrack to your summer, even if we are still in isolation.

Riker Lynch made his music debut with former band R5 and then moved on to become The Driver Era. Since his brothers and sister decided to venture on with their own projects, Riker decided to do the same — hence, Riker and The Beachcombers.

Since starting his solo project, Riker has released four songs under his name and gone on a US tour as a support act for O.A.R. Three of the songs are original and one is a cover, with Riker revealing hopeful plans for dropping an album this summer.

‘Sex On The Beach’, ‘She Just Wants to Be Famous’ and ‘My Girl Rita’ are the three original songs, and they all give off major summer and beach vibes. The tracks definitely make Riker live up to his stage name. The three songs were written and performed intended for the summer, and they deliver.

They also showcase some of Riker’s favourite things, aka cocktails. ‘Sex On The Beach’ is directly named after a cocktail, and one is cleverly hidden (although if you say it out loud, you will know instantly). ‘My Girl Rita’ was even released on National Margarita Day to further celebrate the popular cocktail. This is another great way of reflecting the beach and summer as cocktails prove to be very popular during the highly sunny season.

‘Escape (The Piña Colada Song)’ is his newly released cover, and although it was made famous all the way back in the 70s, Riker covered it and definitely made it his own. He even filmed the music video in quarantine last week. Riker’s cousin, Gordy De St Jeor, filmed the music video that included his brothers, Ross, Rocky and Ryland, and his other cousin, Gil. The family filmed the music video in their backyard at their family house, and used props wherever they could.

Riker and The Beachcombers are definitely a new act to look out for with new songs coming out often, and an album hopefully on the horizon.  To find out more, you can check out Riker’s website here.
