Forbes has released their 2021 30 under 30 Asia List, featuring GOT7’s singer Jackson Wang, K-pop female soloist IU, Dirty Hit’s singer No Rome, and more for the entertainment and sports category.

The annual 30 under 30 Asia List shines a light on 300 individuals under the age of 30, recognising their hard work and praising their impact in various fields, from activism to science, sports, and entertainment.

Jackson Wang’s profile on the Forbes directory mentions his 2019 album Mirrors, named the most popular album of the year by NetEase Cloud Music. It also notes his incredible work in China as a brand ambassador for Fendi and CEO at his creative firm, TEAM WANG, which includes a fashion label (Team Wang Design) and a record label (Team Wang Records).

IU — one of the most successful artists from her generation and beloved K-pop soloists in her home country and worldwide — has been praised for her recent successes. In January 2021, IU won Song of the Year for “Blueming” at the Golden Disc Awards, a prestigious Korean award. In May 2019, her single “Eight” featuring BTS’s Suga topped Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart. The most-followed soloist in Korea on Instagram, IU is also an accomplished actress, starring in TV hits like Hotel Del Luna in 2019 and My Mister in 2018.

Hwasa has been making a name for herself as a solo artist and as a member of the girl group MAMAMOO. In June 2020, she released her debut EP María, debuting at No. 7 on the Billboard World Albums chart and No. 1 on the US iTunes Albums Chart — a first for a Korean female solo artist. Unapologetically herself on stage and on TV appearances, she’s defeated barriers as a singer, songwriter, and woman in the K-pop industry.

Korean drama Start-Up stars Nam Joo Hyuk and Suz were also featured on the list. According to Forbes, the factors considered to make the list were “the demonstration of leadership, impact, the potential of success and the embodiment of the entrepreneurial spirit synonymous with Forbes.” Both actors have been in the hearts of K-drama lovers since their recent performance.
