This new fan project is all about Google Doodles. You know, those (sometimes) animated pieces of artwork that brighten up the Google home search bar you see every day? The ones that commemorate holidays or the 150th birthdays of various artists and scientists? Some of you might not be aware, but Google takes public suggestions for what doodles to display, all day, on their homepage.
Here’s the plan: get as many Directioners as possible to email the Google doodle team, suggesting them to make a 10 year anniversary doodle for One Direction, on July 23rd. If Google receives many collective suggestions, they might at least take the idea into consideration.
Here is an excerpt from the Google Doodle ‘about’ page:
“The doodle team is always excited to hear ideas from users – they can email firstname.lastname@example.org with ideas for the next Google doodle. The team receives hundreds of requests every day so we, unfortunately, can’t respond to everyone. But rest assured that we’re reading them!”
When researching where to send in suggestions, this email came up a lot, email@example.com. It’s probably best to use the email provided by Google themselves because they may have changed it over time. Still, thought we’d include it.
According to fans, if you’re an artist, you can also submit personal artwork to this email as well. (Although, we checked the google website and couldn’t find anything on this.)
It’s also worth mentioning, you can additionally try submitting requests to the Google Doodle Facebook page, here.
In the words of the Directioner who made us aware of this fan project;
“This would be an amazing achievement, a way to show the boys how much they still mean to us.” (@mutual__respect28)
It’s common knowledge that One Direction fans can, basically, control the internet whenever they wish. We’re pretty confident in you all! So, best of luck- we’re excited to see what happens!
