Hop on the Hogwarts Express at the Philadelphia Harry Potterfest

Attention muggles: It’s time to get your tickets, robes and wands ready and hop on the Hogwarts Express this fall at the Harry Potter festival in Philadelphia.

Despite it being 5 years since the release of the last film ‘Deathly Hallows Part 2’, Potter fever is still going strong. With the recent instalment ‘The Cursed Child‘ a massive success, it’s clear to see everyone is still hooked on all things Harry Potter.

Hosted by Chestnut Hill college (whose campus is totally Hogwarts-esque), this year’s festival is set to be bigger and better than ever! Don’t worry,  you won’t have to be a student to take part, although this does look like the coolest college we have ever seen!

What to expect-o patronum

This will be the fifth consecutive year for the festival and it continues to get more popular by the year. In previous years, the sidewalk along Germantown Avenue has been packed with Potterheads. This year, streets will be closed to traffic in order to cater festival goers.

The festival will be held from Friday 21st October through til Saturday 22nd.

All aboard The Hogwarts Express!

Arrive at the festival in true Potter style. You’ll be able to ride on the Chestnut Hill East or Chestnut Hill West Hogwarts Express with Harry, Ron and Hermione lookalikes who will personally escort you to the fun filled festival

Harry Potter Pub crawl

What better way to celebrate the launch of the festival on Friday, Oct 21st than with a few tankards of Butterbeer?

Tickets will go on sale on September 28 and will include to-be-announced perks. If you don’t manage to snap up tickets for the pub crawl, you can still visit the participating bars in Chestnut Hill and join the fun.

Admission to the street fair and quidditch tournament is free, but if you’re looking to join the academic conference, a $10 registration fee is required.
