2016 has been one hell of a year. And it’s finally coming to an end (thank god!).

Over the course of the year, too many movies came out. And of course, I tried to watch as many as possible. Therefore, I’ve created a list of my top 5 faves that I couldn’t help but watch more than once.

1. ‘FINDING DORY’

I had waited too long for this sequel. And man, the nostalgia hit hard. I may or may not have cried a little at the beginning and the end. The same voices, the whole thing was amazing. The story was pretty good too, typical Disney fashion. And yes, more than half the people in the cinema were adults like me. If any kid screamed, I would’ve escorted them out, let’s be real.

2. ‘DON’T BREATHE’

This one surprised me. I knew it’d be decent, but I didn’t think it would become one of my favourite thriller movies. My favourite things are plot twists. If a film has an epic one, I’ll love it. And ‘Don’t Breathe’ was no exception. I was literally holding my breath during the movie. The adrenaline was so real. I don’t know what I would’ve done in that situation. I didn’t know who to root for. The struggles. A definite winner in my book for 2016.

3. ‘CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR’

This Marvel gem blew my mind. I had high expectations and everything delivered. The battle sequences, the story, everything. And more heroes kept popping up and joining either #TeamCap or #TeamIronMan, it was great. It also introduced Spider-Man (HELL YEAH) and Black Panther. Epic on all levels. More, please.

4. ‘HUSH’

Netflix delivered a fantastic movie here. I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with home invasion movies. I don’t know why. One thing always bugged me – the stupidity of the main characters. They make the silliest decisions and I can’t handle it. However, ‘Hush’ took me by complete surprise. For one, the main character is deaf and can’t hear her attacker. I was on the edge of my seat. Secondly, this woman was so smart in how she handled the situation. Thank you, finally. Must watch.

5. ‘FANTASTIC BEASTS AND WHERE TO FIND THEM’

A fantastic reintroduction into the magical world of witchcraft and wizardry. Or aka, the world of Harry Potter. I thoroughly enjoyed this newest instalment from J.K. Rowling. The feels came rushing back and it was such a delight to watch. In one word? Magical. People should stop comparing it to Harry Potter, though.

OKAY, JUST ONE MORE?

The Conjuring 2‘ was simply amazing and scary. It definitely outdid the first movie. Let me tell you now, if you want a great horror movie, this is it. Truly and utterly terrifying.
