What’s #OnOurRadar this week over at United By Pop? Well, February is definitely proving to be a strong month in the music world as acts gear up for 2017 world tours and album releases. Check out the tracks we’re buzzing about right now.
Tinie Tempah – ‘Something Special’
Immediately recognizable as a departure from his usual musical stylings, ‘Something Special’ explores the artist’s inner thoughts and experiences. This is the latest track to come off of his upcoming third album ‘Youth’.
San Holo – ‘Light’
Newly signed to Columbia Records, San Holo (real name: Sander Dijck) is tearing up the electronic music scene. Pegged to be a huge dance track of 2017, ‘Light’ has already seen 30 million Spotify streams.
Sonny – ‘Princess’
Only 17, Sonny is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. His debut single ‘Princess’ a blend of both retro and modern that come together to create a timeless hit.
Ms Banks – ‘Get Loose’
A taste of what she has in store for 2017, Ms Banks says, “When people try to get me down I just continue to turn up, they’ll soon understand they have no power over me. Have fun, get loose.”
Club Drive – ‘Spare Time’
‘Spare Time’ is Club Drive’s first 2017 single following the success of their 2016 debut EP ‘Dangerous’. They’ll be headlining three dates in London in March as well as making festival appearances throughout the spring and summer.
Vanessa White – ‘Good Good’
After a very exciting 2016, Vanessa White is back with ‘Good Good’, coming off her highly anticipated EP ‘Chapter Two’. Vanessa told FADER, “With relationships, people always have something to say but I always prefer to find out for myself rather than listening to others, and the song touches on that.”
Two Friends ft. Cosmos & Creature – ‘Out Of Love’
The second track off their forthcoming EP due out next week, Two Friends says ‘Out Of Love’ “might be our favorite song we’ve ever made.” They continue, “It all came together so organically and was such a fun one to work on from the very beginning til the very end, which can be pretty rare.”
Sabrina Claudio – Confidently Lost
Influenced by Mariah Carey, Destiny’s Child, Usher, and Boyz II Men, Sabrina Claudio’s ‘Confidently Lost’ is a cool blend of R&B and Bossa Nova sounds.
East of Eli ft. Chyler Leigh – ‘Nowhere’
Nathan West, the man behind East of Eli who’s also famous for his television acting, gave ‘Nowhere’ to his wife Chyler Leigh (also a famous TV actress) as a Valentine’s Day gift. “She is my inspiration, my muse & biggest fan,” Nathan writes on SoundCloud.
Clean Bandit ft. Sean Paul & Annie-Marie – ‘Rockabye’
As ‘Rockabye’ continues to climb charts around the world, Clean Bandit has announced a special woodland gig as part of Forest Live. They’ll be playing with guests at Thetford Forest on July 2. See here for tickets.
Close Friends ft. Kashish – ‘Don’t Love Me’
Close Friends is made up of DJ/producer due Jason and Jonathon, and ‘Don’t Love Me’ is their first original track. Ever accidentally run into an ex out at a party? This song gets that.
All Time Low – ‘Dirty Laundry’
All Time Low joins the roster at Fueled By Ramen just in time to release their newest single ‘Dirty Laundry’ and embark on a world tour in March (tickets).
Misterwives – ‘Machine’
Gearing up to join Panic! at the Disco on their Death of a Bachelor tour this month and working on their second album, Misterwives says ‘Machine’ is “a rallying cry to stand against a world that suppresses individuality and diversity.”
