If there’s one rookie group that’s completely stolen my heart this year, it’s Hearts2Hearts. From the moment they debuted with ‘The Chase’, they’ve had that special spark for me. Now, with their first mini album FOCUS, they’re proving themselves to be one of the most exciting rookie acts of the year. The eight member group is a powerhouse in the making, blending fresh energy with a nostalgic twist that feels both comforting and new at the same time. JIWOO, CARMEN, YUHA, STELLA, JUUN, A-NA, IAN and YE-ON have already shown how versatile and talented they are, and their first mini album captures that perfectly.
The title track ”FOCUS” is everything I personally hoped for and more. It’s sleek, hypnotic, and absolutely addictive. The music video and choreography make it even more captivating, and I dare say Hearts2Hearts are one of the most in-sync groups when it comes to dancing. ”FOCUS” is easily my favourite song on the album as there’s something effortlessly cool about it that really shows how much they’ve grown since debut. Then moving onto ”Apple Pie” which turns the vibe softer and sweeter, like a perfect sleepover soundtrack, while ”Pretty Please” the pre-release track, brings a fun, bouncy energy that’s impossible not to move along to.

The album closes with ”Blue Moon” a beautiful R&B-pop ballad that highlights the members’ vocals and adds an emotional finish to the tracklist.
However, physical album buyers are also treated to “STYLE,” their viral summer anthem that sparked endless dance challenges online (thank you, IAN, for the choreography we’re all still obsessed with). It’s a great reminder of just how much stage presence and charisma this group has, even as rookies.
