Three weeks into January now, and the first month of 2017 is still treating us kindly with new music from industry newcomer and veterans alike. Names you probably already know, like Little Mix and Tinie Tempah, have released singles from huge albums, and names you probably don’t know but absolutely need to have new tracks worthy of massive chart climbing. Check out who’s on our radar this week.
Lesley Barth – ‘Just Like Summer’
Located in New York City, singer/songwriter Lesley Barth has released the music video for her single ‘Just Like Summer’. The disco-inspired number pairs perfectly with her 70s throwback vibe.
Naives – ‘Crystal Clear’
Coming off of singles ‘W.I.G.O’ and ‘Fashion Pineapple’, Naives’ newest release ‘Crystal Clear’ is an eclectic pop single with a psychedelic music video to match. Their self-titled debut album is due out by the end of January.
Little Mix – ‘Touch’
Perrie, Jade, Leigh Anne, and Jesy have finally released the music video for the latest single off the ‘Glory Days’ album, ‘Touch’, one again channeling their favorite 90s aesthetic. They hit the United States to open up for Ariana Grande on her ‘Dangerous Woman’ tour next month (I’ll be at the Boston show!).
Leon Of Athen – ‘Xenos’
Inspired by the genocide of indigenous people, Leon of Athen’s single ‘Xenos’ is dark but powerful. Leon says, “The song refers to any oppressed group of people who are forced to leave their land. On a personal note, it also refers to the feeling of being a stranger to your own self.”
Lewis Watson – ‘Forever’
Along with his new single ‘Forever’, Lewis Watson is releasing his new album on March 3rd as well as embarking on a UK tour. Grab tickets to see him here.
Chloe Martini – ‘Change Of Heart’ (ft. Chiara Hunter)

Tinie Tempah – ‘Text From Your Ex’ (ft. Tinashe)
Coming off of his highly-anticipated third album ‘Youth’, ‘Text From Your Ex’ features star-on-the-rise Tinashe. Tinie says the song is about when “you think you’re that fly boy who’s got a lot of girls, and your girl sees a text on your phone and your belly sinks, all your confidence goes out the window and you feel like, man, this is the end.”
British singer/songwriter Alex Clare has just released the dates for his 2017 UK/European tour here. It’s been two years since his last tour, and he’s ready to play songs off his latest album ‘Tail of Lions’ for a live audience. He says he’s “only interested in making nasty sounding music to play live.”
Calum Scott – ‘Rhythm Inside’
Calum Scott, BRIT nominee and Bestselling British Breakthrough Solo Artist of 2016, is starting off 2017 strong with a new music video for his single ‘Rhythm Inside’. His debut album is due out this spring.
