Even as we near the end of the year, the new music doesn’t stop coming out of both the U.K. and the U.S. This week’s On Our Radar features Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui as a solo artist on a Marian Hill track, up-and-coming artists like Teddy Edwards and Molly Kate Kestner, and more.
Matt Wills – ‘Set You Free’
Following Matt’s ‘The Hurricane’ EP, ‘Set You Free’ is the debut track off his upcoming EP of the same name. Influenced by Ben Howard, the 1975, Jamie T, and The Kooks, ‘Set You Free’ recently premiered on BBC Introducing.
Vaults – ‘One Day I’ll Fly Away’
The soundtrack of this year’s John Lewis advert, ‘One Day I’ll Fly Away’ now has an accompanying music video. The track comes from their current album ‘Caught In Still Life’.
Teddy Edwards – ‘My Name’
Born and raised in New York City, Teddy has been playing piano since he was 4, playing guitar since he was 8, and songwriting since he was 9. ‘My Name’ is Teddy’s debut release, and you can expect his first EP sometime in 2017.
Molly Kate Kestner – ‘Good Die Young’
Inspired by Prince’s death, Molly says the meaning behind ‘Good Die Young’ is how “dark and desperate” it is “when you see a good person die at a young age.” A Minnesota native now living in Los Angeles, Molly is due to release new original material in 2017.
Marian Hill ft. Lauren Jauregui – ‘Back To Me’
Marian Hill, a duo made up of Jeremy Lloyd (production/songwriting) and Samantha Gongol (vocals/songwriting), has teamed up with Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui on their latest track ‘Back To Me’. Lauren says, “I’m happy to be able to give people a snippet of my vibe for the first time in collaboration with them.” The song already reached #1 on the iTunes Electronic Top Songs Chart.
