Disney Channel star Olivia Rodrigo released her debut single — and arguably the most catchy song of the century — “drivers license” on January 8.

Three days later, Rodrigo’s single set the Spotify record for having the most streams in a day with over 15.17M global streams. The next day, “drivers license” beat its own record with over 17.01M streams. And if you think that was it, Olivia now holds the title for biggest weekly streaming debut for any song globally in Spotify history. With Amazon Music, Olivia also managed to set the record for the most streams and scored the most voice requests ever through ‘Alexa.’

Fast forward to today and “drivers license” has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and is certified Gold.

Think that’s it? Nope. Within the first week of its release, Olivia’s single went No. 1 on Apple Music in 48 countries, Spotify in 31 countries, and YouTube in 14 countries. And here’s the cherry on top: “drivers license” is also the UK’s official No. 1 song — and the music video has garnered over 46 million views.

For some, it may seem like Olivia is new to this realm of explosive success. In an interview with the UK’s Big Top 40, she shared, “The song, I think, came out about a week ago, and it’s been the craziest week of my entire life. It’s funny how, like, everything has changed but also, like, nothing has changed at the same time.”

But if there’s one thing that Olivia’s not a novice at, it’s songwriting. Fans saw this with her song “All I Want,” which she wrote for her Disney+ hit series, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.

Equally powerful and sweet, Olivia is a true songwriter that is making her way to the top, and there’s nothing holding her back.
