Liam Payne nearly completely dropped off the grid post-1D hiatus. And that’s okay. Well, we’re still kind of dying to see a photo of his and Cheryl’s baby (or even learn its name), but we’re totally supportive of the boy taking some time for himself after five non-stop years. That’s why we’re so excited that Ryan Tedder dropped some info on Liam’s solo music.
Speaking to Newsweek, Ryan Tedder (you know him from OneRepublic) said that in the last three months alone he’s worked with Camila Cabello, Selena Gomez, Jess Glynne, Foster the People, U2, and even Pink. Not a bad roster there. He revealed that he’s already penned a track with Liam, and it’s set to be recorded next week. Bless.
“It’s a dance record,” Ryan said of the song they worked on together. “Liam is pop, and doing it in a fantastic fashion. He has a killer voice. There’s elements of stuff I like from Usher, there’s stuff that’s edgy like The Weeknd…it’s all over the map—it’s pop. It’s really high quality.”
He also described Niall’s solo music as ‘Story of My Life’-turned-full-album, Zayn as R&B, and Harry as classic Britpop.
So, when will we get Liam’s music? When will we learn his baby’s name? It’s all a mystery at this point, but we can’t wait.
