Singaporean Mandopop star JJ Lin has joined forces with British artist Anne-Marie for his new single ‘Bedroom’. The collaboration is a ‘hidden track’ on his recent EP, Like You Do, which marked the singer’s first-ever English-language project.
‘Bedroom’ is an emotional duet sung from the perspectives of two heartbroken ex-lovers. The ballad features haunting vocals from the pair as they sing directly to each other, lamenting the way the relationship ended.
Describing the song as “reflecting a darker version of myself”, JJ revealed that he “found a sense of healing, by reaching in and realising that true strength is found in embracing every version of the self.”
The tone of the track also feels like a fresh change for Anne-Marie, as she’s recently released a string of up-tempo club bangers such as ‘Don’t Play’ and ‘Way Too Long’.
