Janelle Monáe has been having quite the moment.

From being the breakout star in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, the sequel to Knives Out, to her showstopping appearance at the Met Gala, the artist has been killing it as an actor and fashion icon.

But now, the artist has returned to music, by announcing her new album The Age of Pleasure, and by gracing us with a sultry, spicy new music video for her latest single, ‘Lipstick Lover.’

Her latest music video is a tribute to women, from kissing them on the neck to appreciating her lover’s curves. Accompanied by a reggae beat, the visuals directed by Monáe and Alan Ferguson, are a celebration of every person’s body and beauty.

In a press release, Monáe shared that, “As we enter into The Age of Pleasure, ‘Lipstick Lover’ is our freeassmothafucka anthem inspired by f.a.m for f.a.m. This is our oasis made with love, rooted in self acceptance, throbbing in self discovery, and signed with cherry red kisses from me to you.”

In speaking about her album as a whole, Monáe shared with Apple Music One’s Zane Lowe, “All the songs were written from such an honest space. Look, it never stops. Even with this album, this project. I’m just like, “You know what? It takes work.” I have to learn things all over again. I have to practice. I have to… And thank God I love the songs. Yeah. So it’s always a fun thing to do. It’s like starting on a blank canvas.”

The Age of Pleasure is set to release everywhere on June 9 but in the meantime, you can listen to ‘Lipstick Lover’ on repeat.
