The 4-member girl group FIFTY FIFTY is currently the biggest rising group within the K-pop industry. Since their release of their first comeback ‘Cupid’, the rookie group is everywhere to be seen on social media and in the charts. The group is currently the most listened Korean girl group on Spotify with more than 27 million monthly listeners. But, behind their hit song ‘Cupid’ there is much more about these 4 girls!
There’s an actual story behind the name FIFTY FIFTY, ‘50 ideal vs. 50 reality. Which means 50% a chance of reality and a 50% of a dream, but with their fans – HUNNIES, they want to be a whole 100%. They’re defined as ‘’bright, hope-filled, ideal, that coexists in life with a painful, hardship-filled reality.’’ Something that their first EP, THE FIFTY also must represent. On November 18 2022, the girl group debuted under Attrakt labels with their first single ’Higher’ as a part of their first album. The other tracks on the album are ‘Lovin Me’, ‘Tell Me’, and ‘Log In’. Those 4 songs sound different from each other but must represent a mix of comfort, rebels and dreamy.
The group consists of members SAENA (leader, dancer, rapper), KEENA (rapper, vocalist), ARAN (vocalist, rapper), and SIO (dancer, vocalist). Before their debut SAENA was also a contestant on a KBS show called Dancing High. On February 24, 2023, the group released the first single album, The Beginning: Cupid. Which was indeed the beginning for these 4 girls, because with their twin version of ‘Cupid’ are they now reaching the charts with being #1 across the Spotify viral charts.
