Walk Off The Earth’s latest single, “I’ll Be There,” has become a fan favorite, reaching the top 10 on Apple Music’s top pop playlist A-List Pop. Following the success of their most recent singles, the band continues to remain close with its millions of supporters across social media and streaming platforms, having also been recognized by a plethora of platforms.

In an exclusive interview with United By Pop, the band’s lead vocalist Sarah Blackwood opened up about their mass success and what fans can expect to see and hear from them soon.

What can you tell us about your latest single “Lonely” and its overall message?

We’d have to ask the Jonas Brothers!

Your single “I’ll Be There” is definitely a fan-favorite! How incredible has the response been to that specific track?

The response has been so incredible! We just heard that we’ve cracked the Top 25 in the USA and we’re in the Top 10 in Canada. Such a cool time for us, and our fans are very connected to it. It’s a song about family, friendship and love so it’s pretty easy to understand the message and apply it to so many different situations.

What makes that song stand out from some of your other releases?

It’s just a really well-written song! It’s about life, and people like to relate to songs that are about what they’re going through. We wrote it for ourselves and for our peeps. Now the world is sharing it with their peeps and it’s everyone’s song!

You guys are nominated for two Juno awards! Congratulations! What was your initial reaction to hearing about that honor?

“HOLY SH*T! AWESOME!” was the actual reaction. We were on a plane home from Australia and we got a “CONGRATS GUYS!” text from our managers with images attached that none of us could load because we were just getting in the air. The plane didn’t have Wifi, so we basically had to wait 15 hours until we landed in Vancouver…knowing we were nominated but not knowing what for!

With a big tour approaching, what makes you all most excited about getting back on the road?

Live shows. We love doing those. And meeting all of our incredible fans!

What tracks off of your latest album, HERE WE GO, are you eager to perform live for your fans?

We spent the better part of December and January putting together a brand new show and we took it on the road starting end of January and will continue to tour through April! My personal favorite to perform is “I’ll Be There” and “Here We Go”. Lots of crazy lighting and choreography along with crowd interaction!

Are there any particular tour stops or cities that you look forward to performing in?

We just played The Sydney Opera House in Australia! That was cool. Every city holds a place in our hearts because our fans are so awesome. We always have a great time performing and bringing our music to life on the road!

What else can fans look forward to coming this year?

As always, a continuous all you can eat buffet of Walk Off the Earth content!
