Rising K-pop stars AMPERS&ONE have been keeping busy since their 2023 debut, and it doesn’t seem like they’ll be slowing down any time soon. Since the beginning of the year, members Kamden, Brian, Jiho, Siyun, Mackiah, Kyrell, and Seungmo have gone on two U.S. tours and released two separate EPs. Their solo run gave them a chance to greet their fans in the states for the first time, and they followed it up by appearing as the opener for P1Harmony’s Most Wanted Tour. Both of their EPs (WILD & FREE and LOUD & PROUD) ranked high on South Korea’s Circle Chart, as well. Despite their demanding schedule, the group seems to be full of energy and ready to keep the momentum going. They’ve proven that they have the talent and star power to charm any audience, and recently we had the exclusive opportunity to ask them some questions so our readers could get to know them better.

UBP: Earlier this year, you traveled all across the U.S. for your very first solo tour. Was it difficult to keep up the energy and enthusiasm with such a packed schedule?
Kamden: I think the reason I was able to keep my energy up was because of our fans, ANDEARs, who kept cheering for us! Sometimes, the fans’ cheers were even louder than the music itself, and it felt like I was flying. I just want to say a heartfelt thank you to all the fans who gave us such unforgettable memories!

UBP: Now that your run with P1Harmony is coming to an end, how are you guys feeling about what you experienced?
Kyrell: While performing alongside P1Harmony, I experienced a lot of emotions. It was really fun and exciting, but I also realized that we still have many things to improve on. Watching P1Harmony on stage taught me a lot — like how to fill a big stage without leaving any empty space, how to interact and have fun with the fans, and how each member’s unique color shines through. I think I’m still in the process of finding my own color too.

UBP: What were the differences between preparing for a solo tour and preparing for this recent series of performances?
Jiho: This stage was much bigger than the solo tour, and there was even an extended stage, so it was great to plan and use the space in more creative ways. Also, since we were the opening act, we put all our energy into those four songs to make sure we could fully show our charms in a short amount of time.

UBP: What was your favorite memory you made on tour this year? What do you think makes AMPERS&ONE unique?
Brian: The most memorable moment for me was definitely our first U.S. tour. We performed a lot, gained tons of experience, and became much closer as a team. I think what makes us special is our friendly vibe, our teamwork, and our global feel as a group.

UBP: What song would you recommend to someone who has never heard your music? What is the best track to introduce someone to AMPERS&ONE?
Siyun: For those who are discovering us for the first time, I’d recommend “On And On.” It was our debut track, and it carries the message of members from different countries coming together as one to chase the same dream. I think it perfectly captures who we are as a team.

UBP: Your most recent comeback (LOUD & PROUD) had an edgier tone compared to your earlier releases. Is this a direction you’re going to continue to head towards, or do you have even more concepts you want to try out?
Mackiah: I think the strong and edgy concept from our recent comeback suits AMPERS&ONE really well, and it allows us to show our coolest sides so you can definitely look forward to more of that in the future! Personally, I’d love to try a boom-bap-style hip-hop concept someday, since I really enjoy that vibe.

UBP: Where do you see yourselves a year from now? What goals would you like to have accomplished between now and then?
Kyrell: A year from now, I think AMPERS&ONE will still be running full speed ahead. We’ll keep finding our unique color, making good music, and performing on stage as a team that brings happiness and comfort to many people.

UBP: What is the most valuable lesson you’ve learned in your career so far?
Jiho: No effort is ever wasted — if you keep working hard, the results will show one day.

UBP: What do you think your greatest strengths are as a team?
Seungmo: Since most of our members speak English as their first language, we don’t face communication barriers during overseas tours, which helps fans enjoy our performances more easily. Also, each member has a distinct charm on stage so you can instantly tell what makes each of us unique just by watching our performance.

UBP: Is there anything you’d like to say to your fans, ANDEAR?
Kamden: ANDEAR, we’ll make unforgettable memories together at our very first fan concert coming up soon! Please look forward to it!
