Jack Hess talks Swerve On You, inspirations and goals


With over 300,000 followers on Instagram and thousands more on other platforms, this singer is on many people’s radar coming into 2019. In an exclusive interview with United by Pop, Hess opened up about his music, goals for the year and more.

How did you originally get involved with music?

I grew up singing and playing instruments which led to me putting out covers on the internet. I started by live streaming my talents on an app called YouNow and from there I started releasing my own original music.

What can you tell us about your latest single ‘Swerve On You’?

It’s actually my favorite song I’ve ever released! The meaning behind is also super cool and I have a visual coming soon to present it!

How has your music evolved over the past few years?

Ever since my first single, ‘Chasing Dreams’, I have been continuously exploring my sound. Take a listen to all my music from the beginning until now and let me know what you think!


If you could collaborate with any singer or artist this year, who would it be and why?

Most definitely, Juice WRLD! His voice along with his flow is so unique and from what it seems and he’d be a super cool dude to work with.

What has been a major highlight of your career thus far?

Being on the Elvis Duran Show, 100 percent! I had a ton of fun!


Who would you say have been your inspirations in the music industry?

Two of my biggest inspirations in the music industry are Justin Bieber and Jake Miller. I hope to work with both of them one day!

Can fans expect an album or another EP this year?

Yes! I am currently in and out of the studio working on my new album and I can’t wait to share it with you all!

What is one major goal you have for 2019? 

I want to achieve a platinum certification on one of my records.
