My 5 favourite albums from 2016

It’s almost the end of 2016 and I have done absolutely nothing. Another year gone. Just kidding, I’ve worked my ass off to save up to travel the world. I am so ready. Despite all the shit things that happened this year, one thing that I can always count on is music. And there have been so many amazing albums released in 2016 that have made it to the top of my faves list.

1. LITTLE MIX: ‘GLORY DAYS’

Guys, I’m still jamming to this. Little Mix’s fourth album has been a massive hit. It’s one of my favourite albums of all-time. To see how much these girls have grown from their X-Factor days is inspiring. Their vocals are phenomenal and their songs are so damn good. ‘Glory Days‘ is truly the light at the end of the dark tunnel that has been 2016.

2. SHAWN MENDES: ‘ILLUMINATE’

This boy (ahem, man) is a blessing. His voice is crazy and his songs are pure raw and honest. I fell in love with his first album and became an instant fan. Now, with ‘Illuminate’, I’m in too deep. He’s captivated me. I’m weak. And he sounds so amazing live. Definitely a favourite album of mine, and my mission for 2017 is to buy tickets to his Illuminate World tour.

3. LADY GAGA: ‘JOANNE’

The Queen is back. After two years since her fourth album, Lady Gaga came soaring to the top of the charts with ‘Joanne’. Man, I love this album. So sweet and beautiful. I really can’t describe what I’m feeling in words except: perfect. I just resonate with this album so much. Thank you Gaga.

4. ARIANA GRANDE: ‘DANGEROUS WOMAN’

Ariana is such a talented woman. I’ve watched her on Jimmy Fallon and her vocal range is insane. She can sing, man. I have so many favourite tracks from ‘Dangerous Woman’. Even though it was released in early this year, I’m still listening to the album today. That doesn’t happen to me very often. Keep slaying the game, Ariana.

5. JAMES ARTHUR: ‘BACK FROM THE EDGE’

Man, I love this guy. I knew he was special ever since I heard of him. His songs meant a lot to me and I’m so grateful. His new album is amazing. ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ is probably my favourite right now but there are countless other tracks which are equally as good. This guy has a killer voice and his talent is limitless.

I’m really happy that I got to experience these five albums this year. They’ve changed my life and I will be forever jamming in the car to them. Bring on 2017.
