Holographic nails are everything right now. You might’ve seen beauty bloggers and websites clamoring on about INLP’s ‘Mega’ nail varnish shade, which the brand describes as “the mother of all holographic nail polishes, period.” For only $10 (about £7.50), ‘Mega’ is currently the most popular holographic polish on the market.

It only takes a few swipes of the brush to get a totally unique, eye-catching nail look—no fancy nail art skills required. Holographic polishes are now dominating on Instagram, and it’s easy to see why. The multifaceted colors are as photographable as they are easy to apply. Obsessed with my new holographic Barbie almond nails. • • I didn't realize how hard it is to find someone to do the perfect nail shape until I moved. Almond nails aren't supposed to look like ovals, and they aren't supposed to have flat edges. There's a fine line between too-pointy and looking like messed up stilettos, and too round and looking like messed up ovals. Each nail shouldn't have a different shape. Fingers crossed I'll find someone even half as good as my go-to guy in Los Angeles. If anyone has someone to recommend in Palo Alto/Cupertino region, please send me their info!
