From books to movies to tv shows, the world of fiction is filled with empowered women to look to and admire. Whether they show their strength physically or mentally, with loyalty or drive, vulnerability or all of the above, the world of fiction is finally allowing female characters to portray the complex and multilayered personalities and realities of women across the globe.
There may still be a way to go but after years of one dimensional, cliched female characters on our screens and between the pages of our books, it’s refreshing to now not have to look too far to find characters who truly represent the women of the past and present.
