On Our Watchlist: Annabelle 2 Trailer, Detroit Trailer and Jude Law Is Dumbledore!

This week has been one for the books. So many great new trailers, posters and movie news premiered, including a huge talking point of the past few days. Yes, Jude Law will be playing a young Dumbledore in the new ‘Fantastic Beasts’ movie, due for release next year. We also got a new trailer for ‘Annabelle 2’ and for the highly anticipated new movie by Kathryn Bigelow, ‘Detriot’.

‘Table 19’ 

Anna Kendrick isn’t shy of doing a good old comedy film and this film is set to join the ranks as one of her best. Also starring ‘Friends’ legend Lisa Kudrow and comedy genius Stephen Merchant. ‘Table 19’ sees ex-maid of honour Eloise (Anna Kendrick) decide to hold her head high and attend the wedding of her oldest friend – even though she was unceremoniously dumped by the best man via text.

‘King Arthur: Legend of the Sword’

A favourite On Our Watchlist, the final trailer for ‘King Arthur: Legend of the Sword’ has premiered this past week. Starring ‘Son’s Of Anarchy’ frontman Charlie Hunnam and Jude Law, the film tells the famous story of King Arthur, however, a fantasy spin has been put on it. Directed by acclaimed director Guy Ritchie, the films looks just what our fantasy craving mind needs. ‘King Arthur: Legend of the Sword’ is released on May 19th.

‘Dark Beacon’ 

Well, this is going to be a breath of fresh air. Starring one of ‘Skins’ alumni, April Pearson, the horror movie tells the story of a forbidden lesbian romance that sees one of the aforementioned woman’s dead husband’s ghost, vowing revenge… crazy right? The movie is released later in 2017 and you have to go see it!

‘Annabelle: Creation’ 

Part of the growing ‘Conjuring’ universe created by horror genius James Wan, ‘Annabelle: Creation’ tells the origin story of the doll that terrorised movie goers in 2014. The film stars Miranda Otto and is directed by David. F. Sandberg, most known for directing horror smash ‘Lights Out’ which was also produced by James Wan. The film is set to be released on August 11th worldwide.

‘Detroit’ 

Directed and produced by Academy-award winning director Kathryn Bigelow, ‘Detroit’ is set to be a huge contender for next years Oscars. Set during 1967 during the civil unrest, the film tells the story of one of the most horrific and dark moments of the time. Starring ‘Star Wars’ lead man John Boyega the film will be released later this year.

Jude Law Is Dumbledore

Yes, you heard me right. Jude Law has been cast as a young Dumbledore in the next few ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them’ movie. The news was broke a few days a go as fans and critics alike praised the casting. The idea that Jude Law and Johnny Depp may share an on-screen romance in front of a family audience, is both exciting and important. The second ‘Fantastic Beasts’ movie is due for release next fall.

‘Get Out’ 

‘Get Out’ was the smash horror fit that nobody saw coming. Combining elements of horror, thriller and racism captured the minds of a huge audience. Now, the cinematic experience is coming to DVD and Blu-Ray. Directed by Jordan Peele, who is the first African-American director to have a debut film cross $100 million at the box office. ‘Get Out’ is a must see when it’s released on home entertainment on May 23rd.
