Exclusive: Here’s the inspiration behind ‘Kung Fu Panda 3’, it’s adorable

In recent times pandas have become one of the most iconic animals in pop culture. From the chart topping hit by Desiigner to the ‘Kung Fu Panda’ film franchise. These mammals are loved by many, and respected by all. There is an exceptional humour attached to them that the ‘Kung Fu Panda’ film series has nailed. The set of films has created a PG friendly animation series that has broken the boundaries of age appropriateness – we have grown up with Po and his family and we all keep going back for more.

To celebrate the release of ‘Kung Fu Panda 3’ on DVD, we have an exclusive clip from the Directors of the film Jennifer Yuh Nelson and Alessandro Carloni. They talk about the inspiration for the animation and why pandas are adored by so many.

‘Kung Fu Panda 3’ has a real emphasise on family and we see Po face one of his biggest challenges yet. Po reunites with his long lost father, and realises that he has a lot of growing up to do if he wants to face the next challenge from his instructor. Moving on from student and becoming the teacher – Po has his work cut out for him as he has to train a group of naive, clumsy, but adorable pandas in martial-arts fighting. He must unite a team of pandahood in the hopes of defeating the evil supernatural warrior Kai.

There are some serious lessons we can learn from this film, even as millennials. ‘Kung Fu Panda 3’ reinforces the importance of family, believing in yourself and being a master at your art (whatever that might be). We loved this in March when it came out in the UK and we know we’ll love it even more when we get our hands on the DVD.

DreamWorks Animation’s ‘Kung Fu Panda 3’ is out now on Digital HD and on Blu-ray™ and DVD from July 11.
