You think you're so important to me, don't you?

It feels like it’s every day that we find ourselves either celebrating or reminiscing the release of our favorite song or album. And in this case, we’re celebrating the fact that just four years ago this month, Sigrid released her groundbreaking single ‘Don’t Kill My Vibe.’

Back in 2017, ‘Don’t Kill My Vibe’ was the debut single for the Norwegian singer-songwriter. Catching the attention of many, this song became an anthem, to say the least.

Speaking with NME’s Thomas Smith, Sigrid shared that when writing her debut single, songwriter Martin Sjølie had asked her what she had been thinking about.

“I started talking about this difficult previous session I’d been in. I could’ve described this upcoming moment of truth as a bad teenage novel but ok, short version: I almost killed that Mac keyboard due to angry writing.”

And, as we’ve seen before from many artists, sometimes that pent-up frustration makes for the best type of music!

Sigrid belts out all the emotions that she’s holding in ‘Don’t Kill My Vibe’ and creates an anthem for all the doubters and non-believers. Whatever they think or say isn’t that important, and it won’t kill her vibe.
