Shawn Mendes is back with new music almost one year after releasing his latest album Wonder. His new song, “It’ll Be Okay,” is out now after the surprise announcement of it earlier this week.
The song is rumored to be about Shawn’s recent breakup with Camila Cabello, and the track pretty much confirms it: “If you tell me you’re leaving, I’ll make it easy / It’ll be okay / And if we can’t stop the bleeding / We don’t have to fix it, we don’t have to stay.”
“It’ll Be Okay” is a piano ballad that harkens back to Shawn’s earlier days as an artist. Prior to the song’s release, he posted a sunset photo on Instagram with the caption, “It feels like I havnt [sic] truly connected with you guys in a while. I miss you I hope you love this song.” Could this song mark the start of a fifth album era for Shawn?
