K-pop superstars TWICE are already on their way to becoming the world’s biggest girl group, and the This Is For World Tour was a shining example of why they’re earning the title. The members are a decade into their career now, and their performance at the United Center during their second night in Chicago was a testament to both their individual skills and their strength as a team. TWICE skyrocketed to the top of their genre domestically early on in their career, and now they’re building an international reputation that’s just as strong.
Along with consistently sitting high on both the Billboard 200 and South Korea’s Circle Chart, the group has been on a roll entertaining arena audiences since July 2025 when this world tour began. Members Dahyun and Chaeyoung were absent in Chicago due to injuries, but the remaining seven (Jihyo, Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Mina, and Tzuyu) put forth an awe-inspiring amount of energy. While the girls occasionally took a moment to speak or joke around with the fans (known as ONCE), they were mostly giving intense back-to-back performances from start to finish for the entire night. TWICE has run through this two-hour concert 35 times already since the start of 2026, and they seem to have it down to a science. Any exhaustion they may be feeling at this point was completely disguised by their sharp skills and bubbly energy. The addition of a live band and crew of talented dancers was a nice finishing touch that created even more layers for an already extravagant show.

This show was an example of the members’ star power on full display, and a perfect way to prove what TWICE is capable of. The 360° stage setup called for altered versions of their existing choreography in order to maximize visibility for the audience, and the massive space allowed for creative solutions when transitioning between songs during the solo portion. Each individual performance occupied a different area of the lengthy platform, allowing the medley to flow across the arena and give every section of the crowd a chance for a close-up view. Jeongyeon’s country-inspired “FIX A DRINK” seemed to be a fan favorite. The group delivered powerful vocals and perfect synergy all throughout the evening. Setlist choices for the beginning and ending acts were almost a humble brag of how many hits they’ve released over the course of their career. Tracks that reflect their more recent worldwide success like “Strategy” and “THIS IS FOR” were the warm up, and the ending was packed with classics like “FANCY” and “What Is Love?”. Chicago’s day two encore was even more nostalgic; ONCEs were blessed with both “Feel Special” and “TWICE Song”. Despite not having their full lineup, the girls still put on a polished and well-rounded show for Chicago’s second night. (Though there was some secondhand embarrassment felt when the members were gesturing to the people in the GA pits to move and give them some energy, and directly asking those in the seated sections to stand up and dance. Apparently even TWICE isn’t immune to the curse of a crowd that would rather record the concert than actually experience it.)
TWICE’s music has been a staple in K-pop playlists for a decade now, but with the rise in the genre’s international popularity in the past couple of years it seems like they have more eyes on them than ever. Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung’s inclusion in the soundtrack for the Netflix smash hit movie KPop Demon Hunters for their version of the “Takedown” (which was on the setlist) boosted their visibility in the United States even more. They had the venue packed full of well-dressed friend groups, families, and ONCEs of all ages. The members delivered a stellar show with both longtime fans and new ones in mind, and the success of this monumental tour is solid proof that they have what it takes to be one of the biggest acts in the world.
