When life gives you lemons, you make ‘Lemonade’. And then, if your name is Louis Tomlinson, with no trace of refractory period you also announce your third studio album How Did I Get Here? and your next world tour How Did We Get Here?

Described by Tomlinson himself as the record he “always deserved to make”, How Did I Get Here? will be released on 23rd January 2026 over three years after Faith In The Future, his sophomore album which debuted in 2022 at No. 5 on the Billboard 200 album chart and at No. 1 on the UK albums chart.

“My bread and butter is my honesty. I genuinely wear my heart on my sleeve, and I hope it comes through in the music. I’m still learning and getting better as a singer and a songwriter. I find it impossible to be complacent; it’s not in my vocabulary. For the first time now, I’m allowing myself to be the artist I’d always hoped I’d be.”

The Away From Home Festival founder and curator started working on this album probably a couple of years ago while he was still on tour but the real magic happened earlier this year in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica, where he spent three weeks with Nico Rebscher. “Taking all of the steps I did to get here was important. I needed to the confidence to become the artist I wanted to be and make a hopefully big, but personal album. I think I did,” he stated.

The lead single, ‘Lemonade’ dropped on 30th September, is a funky groovy song with a catchy chorus and a heavenly bridge that should already be declared World Heritage Site. Talking about it, our Tommo said: “The most important thing was for the first single to sound ambitious sonically. It had to be big and fun. To me, ‘Lemonade’ really has instant and natural personality. It ended up being the perfect way to begin this chapter.”

And we couldn’t agree more.

We all know how much Tomlinson enjoys touring, that’s why it comes as no surprise that he will be on the road again – sorry not sorry – next year. The How Did We Get Here? World Tour will kick off in March and will see him travel across Europe in spring to then move to North America in the summer. It will feature a lot of iconic arenas, among which Madison Square Garden where he will perform for the first time as a solo artist.

Tickets will go on sale next Friday (10th October) at 9am local time for UK and Ireland, and 10am local time for Europe and North America. You can get access to the pre-sale on Wednesday 8th October by pre-ordering How Did I Get Here? before 12 BST on 7th October.

The tour is named after the record, of course, but there’s also another reason behind it.

“I feel like something good is about to happen, and if it does every single one of my me fans should really, really pat themselves on the back for that. We’ve done it together, you know?” Louis said and this tells you everything you need to know about him as an artist and as a person.

Also, I think it would have been hard to make a better choice because “How did we get here?” is pretty much what every single Louie all over the world is asking themselves since their fave is going around announcing and dropping and promoting non-stop in the past few weeks.
But still, “no ragrets”.

This new era just started but it already looks so interesting and refreshing, and, as usual when it comes to our Tommo, it will more likely exceed our expectations.

So, buckle up Louies, the best is yet to come! And I have a feeling this time around we’re REALLY not ready. Meanwhile, stream Lemonade 🍋
