Joshua Bassett is back! The Golden Years chapter is over. This Joshtober, it is time for something new, like Josh sings in his teaser, or something “blueeeeee”. On September 24th, Josh posted a teaser clip of a studio recording of something he has been working on. It sounds like he is singing “oooooooooh” in a church with amazing acoustics. But if you listen to the clip at a higher volume, he is actually singing, “blueeeeee.” He also changed his profile picture to a blue circle.

This song carries a baby blue theme. Fans may recognize the blue from his minimalist merchandise line, which supports Josh’s favorite charities. It included a baby blue t-shirt reading Joshua Bassett’s Merch and a bucket hat embroidered with a sunflower featuring an upside-down smile.

The color blue is often tied to sadness, but Josh has transformed it into a love song. From the very first listen, it feels like a track that brings happy tears. Josh is clearly in love, stepping into his brightest, happiest era yet. He’s even managed to create what feels like the perfect wedding song. Listeners will find themselves either slow dancing with tears in their eyes beside their partners. Or hugging their Franklins or teddy bears tightly while wishing for true love. “We’re fallin’ in pieces,/ can’t get enough/ ‘Cause nobody holds me the way you do/ And out of the blue (Out of the blue)”

The track is stunning, with soothing lyrics and gentle instrumentals. Josh has immersed himself in countless rom-coms while falling in love. It’s the kind of song we need as 2025 winds down. A moment of escape from the news and the weight of our own struggles. Whether it’s the lead single from an upcoming EP or album is still unknown. It’s only a matter of time until we find out.

In addition to this happy song. On July 29th, ROSTR insiders announced that Josh has been released from Warner Records. He has officially signed with a new manager, Ethan Curtis, of Plush Management. This sudden change is not out of the blue. Fans have been anticipating this change. It is the best way he can start a new chapter and end the Golden Years chapter.

For now, let’s celebrate Josh’s happiest era yet! And keep streaming “Blue” because you never know what he will surprise us with next out of the blue.
