Earlier this week, K-pop group VERIVERY released their first project since 2023. Their new mini album Lost and Found follows the news of the member’s contract renewal, signifying a new era for the seven of them. Members Dongheon, Gyehyeon, Yeonho, Yongseung, and Kangmin are keeping the momentum going while Minchan and Hoyoung are still on hiatus. Group activities were paused for an extended time due to military enlistment and survival show participation, but they’re ready to take the traction they gained during their break and coming out swinging.

Title track “RED (Beggin’)” highlights their signature vocal strength. VERIVERY truly excels when the drama is turned up to the max, and this song feels like a return to what the group does best. The chorus also features an interpolation of the American classic rock hit “Beggin’” by The Four Seasons.
For the past few years, the group has been on a rollercoaster of highs and lows. Lengthy hiatuses and periods of inactivity left many fans feeling nervous for the future. However, the members seem to have come out the other side stronger and ready to keep working as a team. The lyrics to “RED (Beggin’)” reflect their decision to keep pushing and survive in the industry despite all the hardship they’ve endured. Their time in the public eye as participants on the TV show Boys II Planet has rounded up quite a few new VERRERS, and longtime fans get to breathe a sigh of relief and enjoy the comeback they’ve waited so long for.

B-side “empty” blends bouncy hip-hop with pop elements and brings a more laid back atmosphere to the album. “Blame us” is a cool and sweet love song that ends things on a much softer note than they started on. Members Dongheon, Gyehyeon, and Yeonho earned writing and composition credits on this album, as well.

VERIVERY is a real hidden gem in K-pop, and seeing all seven members re-sign their contracts felt like witnessing a miracle. This EP marks the beginning of a new phase in their career, and serves as proof that they have the talent and drive to keep up with their peers. Lost and Found is both a highly anticipated comeback for one of K-pop’s most underrated groups, and a great introduction for new fans. Their discography is full of variety, they’re some of the most well-rounded performers in the game, and they’re finally ready to come back and release even more timeless bangers. If you haven’t given their music a listen yet, this is your chance to discover an incredible group. Hopefully this is the era where they finally get the recognition they deserve in the genre.
