Review: Well, what can I say? I was so delighted when I heard that there was going to be yet another Bridget Jones book.

As much as I was excited and enjoyed reading it… it confused me a little. Firstly, Daniel Cleaver was dead in the recent Bridget Jones’ Baby film, but in this book, he’s alive.. when in the film, they had an American millionaire. Why? I’m unsure.

The book is about 75% of the recent film, but some scenarios are slightly different or have a different location! For example, when Bridget first tells people about the baby, it is sort of just blurted out early on…

It still has the Bridget Jones’s Diary-style of writing with excerpts from her diary, text messages and memories which I really like reading.

Don’t get me wrong, I adored reading this but I am just confused to why certain bits are in the books, then the film is different? People are dead, then alive? And now don’t exist?

I thoroughly enjoyed it just as I have loved every other Bridget Jones book or film and if Helen Fielding was to make more, I would still definitely pick them up and read.

Give it a read if you enjoyed the recent film, and feel free to let me know what you thought about the book! I would love to hear your opinions on this.
