This new TV show is inspired by Harry Styles

Would you watch a show about a pop star living in an attic? Because we would.

There’s a new television show in the works about Harry Styles… sort of.

Quick history lesson. Back in the day (like 2011/12/13, somewhere in there) Harry Styles unexpectedly started bunking with Ben Winston—the man behind many of One Direction’s music videos—and his wife, while Harry’s newly purchased house was supposedly under renovation.

The reno was only supposed to take two weeks, but the Winstons ended up housing Harry up their attic for 20 months. Twenty!

Ben told Rolling Stone, “Those 20 months were when they went from being on a reality show, X Factor, to being the biggest-selling artists in the world. That period of time, he was living with us in the most mundane suburban situation. No one ever found out, really. Even when we went out for a meal, it’s such a sweet family neighborhood, no one dreamed it was actually him. But he made our house a home. And when he moved out, we were gutted.”

If you thought this scenario sounded like the making of a comedy TV show, well, CBS agrees with you. According to Deadline, the network has given the green light to a new half-hour show that “centers on a young married couple whose evenings have become comfortable and routine. Their lives are completely upended when a young musician moves into their spare bedroom and brings with him the complications of being an up-and-coming mega pop star — sometimes even the paparazzi.”

And guess who’s executive producing this new show? Ben Winston.

Small world indeed.
