10 of the best vegan and cruelty free cosmetics
I am mind blown by the fact that animal testing is still a problem in 2018, but over 115 million animals are still being used for animal testing across the globe. It’s unnecessary and unbelievably inhumane, but one of the best ways we can all protest is by switching to cruelty-free products.
It’s sometimes difficult to know if cosmetic products are 100% ethical, but I am about to present you with some definitive proof that you don’t have to sacrifice quality when transitioning to a cruelty-free home.
This is the holy grail of cleansers, in my humble opinion. Since I started using it a couple of years ago my skin is constantly clear and it’s rare that I have a breakout. Not only is this cleanser gentle, moisturising and nourishing – it also fully removes your makeup and leaves your skin glowing.
A beautiful, organic cleanser that promises to not only cleanse your skin, but remove makeup and improve skin clarity. It contains Sea Buckthorn which encourages tissue regeneration and helps to remove scarring – whilst also regulating oil levels. As an extra selling point, PHB donate 20% of all their profits to charity alongside campaigning heavily for ‘people over profit’.
All Superdrug own brand products are completely cruelty free. At the bargain price of £2.99 you can just pop this on your face at night if you feel like you could do with that extra level of hydration.
Skyn ICELAND are all about promoting a stress free life and have a whole range of natural and unique products. These patches help firm, de-puff and reduce premature wrinkling under the eyes within 10 minutes! As somebody who looks constantly tired, I am willing to try anything to assist with those stubborn dark circles.
I absolutely adore Lush products but this face mask goes beyond anything I’ve ever tried. I don’t know what magic that lies within this formula, but not only does it clear your skin – it gives you a long lasting and gorgeous base for your makeup to settle on.
A product with seemingly a lot of consistent reviews. I tend to just wear a CC cream from day to day now and this is lightweight, evens your skin tone and really brightens your complexion. It has a high SPF, it’s infused with anti-aging serum and has been crowned an all in one beauty miracle.
Another lovely lightweight product that hydrates, primes and illuminates leaving you with a radiant, natural finish.
Admittedly, I have little to no skills when it comes to my eye-makeup and always tend to just hope for the best when I’m going in with the eyeliner – but Kat Von D has made this SO much easier for me by creating this liquid eyeliner pen. It glides on and enables you to create a bold, winged look in seconds.
All Boots own makeup is cruelty free and at such a low price, this can easily become a staple in your routine. It’s a simple and radiant primer to help give you that little bit more of a glow when you need it. It has also been likened to Mac prep and prime, but at a fraction of the price!
Hyaluronic acid assists with multi-depth hydration of the skin. A couple of drops of this before your moisturiser and you will really start to see the results. I struggle greatly with dry skin in the cold weather, but since using this I have definitely noticed my skin is hydrated, glowing and plumped.
