Mental Health Awareness week is approaching and this year’s theme is body image. It’s often a tricky topic to talk about, but it’s important to keep the conversation going as it can make a huge difference in not only changing but saving people’s lives.

Research has found that 30% of adults have felt so stressed by their body image or appearance that they’ve felt unable to cope – that’s almost 1 in 3 people. It’s a staggering statistic, but it also serves as proof that we’re not alone.

Mental health problems can affect anyone, no matter their background, and are something that even pop stars have had to take time out for. They may seem glamorous, but they’re human beings just like us. Thankfully, many are being vocal about their struggles and often use their songs as a form of release and a way to communicate openly with fans.
