Following the success of “Halfway There,” ROZES is back with another impressive single, “Call Me,” that has already blown fans away with her powerhouse vocals accompanied by piano and emotional lyrics. This single has portrayed to listeners yet again how versatile she is as an artist. There is much more to learn about her as both a singer and artist and fans should take every opportunity to see inside her world. In an exclusive interview with United by Pop, ROZES opened up the track, collaborations and more.

What can you tell us about your recent single called “Halfway There” and its message?

‘Halfway There’ was written to be a fight song for those battling through the struggles of life. I wanted it to be empowering and uplifting, and to encourage listeners to know that even when the fight isn’t fair, to keep moving forward.

How was it to collaborate with other powerful female vocalists for its version (GIRL PWR)?

I was so incredibly honored that these other ladies would join me on this version of the song. I wrote this song for a woman’s fight, so it was empowering to have these female vocalists stand beside me in support.

What have been some major influences for your music recently?

I have so many things influencing me lately. I think it’s particularly important in today’s climate to be standing up and speaking out about the things we believe in, so that’s been playing a huge role in my writing currently. I was a part of Alicia Keys’ “She Is The Music” camp and was so inspired by her mission to not only speak up for women but also to actively play a role in solving the problem of inequality in the music industry. I find my natural emotions particularly inspiring because I’ve always vowed to be raw and honest, so I guess to answer the question in short… would be that I’m inspired by the people around me and the emotions stemming from my life, love, and fight.

You have had so much success already! What has been a highlight of your career thus far?

Thank you! It’s funny because, to me, I never think about the successes, I just think about the next goal. I guess [that] this is a downfall. I think being part of the “She Is The Music” camp has been the highlight of my career so far, though. I learned that while it’s important that we use our platforms to speak out, it’s so important to use our platforms to put action to the cause. Practice what we preach! Alicia Keys has always been one of my biggest idols, so of course, that part of it was cool too!

Do you still have people you would like to work with? Anyone in particular?

I’ll always have hopes and dreams to collaborate with others, and I’m open to any opportunity that comes my way. I’d love to collaborate with Sam Smith or Lizzo.

You just released a new song called “Call Me.” What can you tell us about that track and what fans can expect from it?

This song is special to me because it’s about someone close to me who was stuck in a fight with depression, and I couldn’t physically be there to help. I could only say “I’m here for you, pick up your phone, please call me.” This song is emotional and one of the most stripped down songs I’ve ever done. This song was written, produced, mixed, and mastered by all women

What is one thing you want your fans to know about the new music you are going to be releasing soon?

I am very passionate about the things I believe in, so I think with the music I’ll be releasing, listeners should know that I’m here for them and standing up for them through my music, and will use my platform for change.

If you could tour with anyone this year, who would it be and why?

I would love to tour with Lizzo! I find her so inspiring and empowering. I think it would be an amazing girl power tour if we played shows together!

Be sure to listen to “Call Me” here.
