Elle Winter on preparing for her debut EP release
Singer-songwriter Elle Winter is preparing for the release of her debut EP expected this fall.
After sharing a few singles, Elle Winter effortlessly racked up thousands of streams within no time.
She’s gained countless supporters already and continues to inspire people — before even releasing a full body of work. The ‘Easy’ singer has accomplished an incredible amount at a young age, and it’s impossible to estimate just how much more impress listeners by the end of this year.
In an exclusive interview with United by Pop, Elle opens up about her music, dream collaborations, and more.
How did you first get started with music and creating your own songs?
My mom says I started singing and talking at the same time. Growing up, I had always loved writing, whether melodies, songs, and even fictional stories in my notebook. I always had a wild imagination and music was the perfect outlet for my creativity. I then took an acting course when I was seven years old which culminated in a showcase that gave me the opportunity to sign with my first agent. Having an agent allowed me to take part in different opportunities throughout NYC [and] ultimately getting discovered by Disney at age 12 based on my original music.
What can you tell us about your latest single, “Do You,” and its message?
“Do You” is an empowering song I wrote with the producers, The Orphanage. It was one of the first songs I worked on for my upcoming EP and it basically sets the tone for this new musical chapter. The song essentially is about being true to oneself despite what other people have to say. I have been in the entertainment industry since I was very young and I have encountered many people who have tried to tell me who to be and what to sing about. This song’s message is that people should be true to themselves and do what makes them truly happy!
Is there anything you can tease about your upcoming EP coming out this year?
The songs are honest, authentic to me and each tells a story of mine.
How do you think your music, both released and unreleased, has evolved over the years?
My music has evolved both sonically and lyrically over the years. As I’ve gotten older, I have more sophisticated topics to write about. I have also been fortunate over the years to work with so many talented producers and songwriters and learn from them while in the studio experimenting with many different sounds and directions, ultimately creating a sound that is most true to me. I have embraced my love of pop music while incorporating elements of soul and EDM.
If you could collaborate with any artist next year, who would it be and why?
I would love to work with Ed Sheeran. I think he is so brilliant [and] I would love to write a song with him!

Do you have a favorite place to write music or brainstorm song ideas?
I am constantly writing music. My phone is full of notes from moments of inspiration, whether I am in my room at home, out with friends or in the recording studio.
What can fans look forward to in the near or distant future?
My debut EP will be released in the fall and hopefully a tour in the fall as well!
