5 films Disney need to make into live action films

After the success of Disney’s live action remakes of The Jungle Book and Pete’s Dragon, I’ve been eager to find out how they planned to remake one of my favourite films, Beauty and the Beast. Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we haven’t got to wait until March next year to see how magical it’s going to be.

The Beast (played by Dan Stevens) towers over Belle (Emma Watson) as they dance in the ballroom, one of the most iconic scenes of the 1991 classic.

Although those who are familiar with the original will try and draw similarities will find the comparisons close, but not identical. Belle’s dress isn’t off the shoulder and she doesn’t appear to be wearing matching gloves either. Needless to say, she looks like an absolutely stunning princess. The Beast’s face is almost unrecognisable and appears to look more human than beast.

After seeing these magical images, let’s hope that we’ll get to see a bit more than we have done in the sneak peak trailer that was released earlier this year.

It’s also been reported recently that ‘The Lion King’ is going to be made into a live action film too. I’ll be honest, I didn’t know how I felt when I read about that. But as Disney have released pretty epic live action films up to now, I’m excited to see what else they have in store.

Here’s 5 more films that I think should get the live action treatment.

Aladdin

Released in 1992, this film will always be a huge part of my childhood. This was the first film I saw in the cinema and I was four years old. Although Robin Williams as the genie will be a pretty big part to try and top, I do think it would be nice to see Aladdin brought to life, you know what I mean?

Mulan

Everyone wants to see Mulan kicking ass, disguised as a man and saving China am I right?

Pinocchio

An oldie but a goodie, this 1940s classic is pretty timeless. As much as Stromboli used to scare the shit out of me as a kid, I’d love to see this brought to life – literally.

The Little Mermaid

Under the seeeaaa…under the seeea! Absolutley love the music in this film. Despite being petrified in Pinocchio, I took to Ursula in this film and she’s far scarier.  Isla Fisher as Ariel? I can totally see it.

The Sword In The Stone

I definitely think this is one of Disney’s underrated films and it doesn’t get enough recognition. My brother was obsessed with this film, and although it wasn’t one that I would choose myself – after watching it over and over with him, I came to love it. I still laugh now thinking of Merlin’s beard getting tangled up.

What Disney film would you like to be made into a live action film?
