Tom Daley is loved by many, including us! He’s a national treasure with an incredible life ahead of him. He’s already made his name, and now he’s splashing into his next adventure… the Olympics at Rio later on this summer!
ITV have commissioned a documentary titled ‘Diving For Gold’, all about Tom and his journey to the Olympics. The documentary will see Tom embark on the next chapter of his career under his new coach Jane Figueiredo, with the hopes of scoring gold in Rio.
Not only will it feature his career, the documentary is also set to feature his life as a public figure and his personal life. The film also follows Tom’s coming out journey as he goes public about his relationship with Dustin Lance Black. It’s quite the story, isn’t it?!
Speaking of the new programme Neil Edwards, Senior Executive Producer of production company Twofour, said: “Tom’s four year journey from London 2012 to Rio 2016 is the latest gripping chapter in a story we’ve all been following since he burst into the public consciousness as a young boy”. He added “as a nation we’re emotionally invested in Tom Daley,” – and he’s not wrong!
We can’t wait to see Tom’s story later on this year when ‘Diving For Gold’ is released on ITV.
